Murena’s operating system, /e/OS, is upgraded to version 2.0. This version degoogled of Android is seriously gaining in functionality. The interface follows suit and is even more user-friendly. Summary of new features.

Just in time for Viva Tech! /e/OS 2.0 is here and will be revealed at the show this week. The opportunity for the Foundation to affirm /e/OS’s commitment to protecting user privacy in the digital age. “The release of /e/OS V1 was a significant achievement, making /e/OS accessible to everyone. Today, with /e/OS V2, we are taking a new step in the maturity of our operating system,” tells us Gaël Duval, founder of /e/OS and Murena.

What’s new ?

/e/OS V2, arrives with a new Bliss 3 launcher. In addition to increased comfort and reliability, we note a more user-friendly and aesthetic visual interface, quite close to iOS in spirit.

The system now has the tool “ Advanced Privacy » to block data leaks from applications. Users benefit from greater control over their data, whether it’s managing trackers in apps or its IP address and geolocation.

/e/OS V2 believes it can offer users “ the highest level of application compatibility available in the AOSP world » (Editor’s note: Android Open Source): compatibility with Google Play services and the Safetynet card. The App Lounge now concentrates F-Droid, Play Store and progressive applications.

Finally, the improved Camera app in /e/OS 2 adds QR code recognition by default, whether for payments, authentication or information retrieval.

Update and installation

Since its launch on May 16, users can download the update in the system updates section of their /e/OS settings.
