INTERIOR MINISTER ANNOUNCES EVICTION OPERATIONS IN THE CAPITAL

The population will have to expect large-scale eviction operations in the coming days. Indeed, the Minister of the Interior has instructed his services to put an end to illegal occupations in the capital.

The Minister of the Interior, General Jean Baptiste Tine, who says he has noticed a proliferation of precarious and irregular housing in several districts of the capital, has given firm instructions to his services.

Indeed, considering that “these illegal occupations represent a source of insecurity and public unsanitary conditions, degrade the living environment and compromise the implementation of urban development projects”, he asked the administrative authorities concerned to organize eviction operations.

General Jean Baptiste Tine asks his men to take the necessary measures to prevent any reoccupation of the vacated spaces. He also wants minors and people in situations of extreme vulnerability to be identified in order to contact the competent organizations to provide them with social support.

“The Minister reminds the illegal occupants, the majority of whom rely only on the generosity of the population to meet their needs, that vagrancy and begging are punishable by criminal sanctions that the competent courts will not fail to apply to them if necessary,” the Minister warns.
