M4 MacBook Pros “appear” in Russia

On several occasions, Russian YouTubers have posted videos of what appear to be unboxings of MacBook Pro M4s, the ones rumored to launch on 1ᵉʳ november. Expected configurations, among other renewals (including the iMac), because they would establish – finally – a minimum of 16 GB of memory.

If we can doubt a priori that these are real machines, some details are disturbing. The machine is clearly used every time (like here and here) and Geekbench test results are displayed. We can see significant differences with a MacBook Pro M3 placed side by side.

As indicated by Mark Gurman (Bloomberg) and spotted by MacG, these machines are indeed what the YouTubers claim. In order to better meet demand and reduce its carbon footprint, Apple would prepare significantly larger stocks before marketing.

This multiplication of stocks would encourage leaks. MacG indicates that, according to its sources, the leak which allowed the production of these videos could be “ much more important than the two or three machines seen in recent days on social networks ».

However, caution was called for, for two main reasons. On the one hand, Apple no longer sells its products in Russia. MacG points out that in practice, stores manage to obtain supplies without too many problems. On the other hand, on YouTubers’ videos, the visual presented is the same as on the boxes of the current MacBook Pro M3.

In any case, the new Mac series should mark a breakthrough, if the rumors are correct. Several ranges would be renewed, with the mission of providing enough RAM to operate Apple Intelligence in good conditions. A mission identical to the iPhone 16, whose base model includes 8 GB of memory, as much as the Pro models, and for the same reasons.
