London: Spazio Leone presents a new design exhibition not to be missed

It is within the walls of a former printing works in the Hackney Downs district of London that the Spazio Leone gallery has taken up residence. Founded in the fall of 2020 by Italian esthete Gennaro Leone, the gallery has made a name for itself by presenting a cutting-edge curation of vintage furniture pieces signed by the great masters of design, mainly from the mid-20th century. A sure taste, confirmed by the new scenography of the gallery, presented until October 20.

Here, the founder of the gallery reveals a most inspiring domestic scene. The raw lines of the place leave plenty of room for vintage furniture, which gives pride of place to wood. The proof with this cabinet signed Ettore Sottsass, the iconic desk by Pierre Jeanneret, a wood and glass coffee table by Nerone Ceccarelli and Giovanni Patuzzi, but also a very beautiful vintage screen and a pair of leather and wood armchairs from Afra and Tobia Scarpa. Other unique pieces make up this decor: the “Greene street chair” by Gaetano Pesce, a painting by the Italian artist Salvatore Emblema, a Fledermaus chair by Josef Hoffmann and the essential washi paper lamps by Isamu Noguchi. It couldn’t be more inspiring.
