Genopole recently brought together in its premises the seven partners of the European project Approvals (Accelerating PROteins innoVAtors beyond reguLatory Sandboxes) to formalize its launch (which took place a few days ago), for two and a half years. His goal? Facilitate the deployment and integration of emerging technologies by cellular agriculture.
To do this, a testing space (sandbox), dedicated to innovators, is set up during the product development process. A expert group is also launched to facilitate collaboration between key players in cellular agriculture, including startups, growing SMEs and innovation support players. Finally, the project includes the implementation of a dialogue platform with regulators and policy makers.
An established roadmap
This launch day notably made it possible to establish a road map concrete for the first year, describing the phases of selection of use casevirtual experimentation and stakeholder engagement.
Faced with the challenge of to feed a population mondiale growing, cellular agriculture is promising. It leads to the creation of a new range of foods, which can be derived from bacteriaof mushroomsof yeasts or evenalgues. These developments will require a modification of existing regulatory and policy frameworks, and, before that, to be open to these advances, in order to anticipate their impacts.
A recognized innovation strategy in cell culture
