There comes a time when changing your smartphone becomes obligatory to take advantage of certain services. This is particularly the case when it is no longer supported by their developers. WhatsApp is also preparing to attack certain models from the Apple firm.
In a blog post published on September 25, 2024, Gizchina relayed important information: the iPhone 5, SE 1, 5C, 6 and 6 Plus will no longer be able to benefit from the messaging application from October 1.
“As technology advances and new features are introduced, older phones simply cannot meet the demands of modern software updates”justifies the media in the face of this situation.
Please note that some Android smartphone models will no longer be compatible with the WhatsApp application, also from October 1, 2024:
- Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus, Galaxy Core et Galaxy Express 2
- Huawei Ascend P6 S et Y625
- Lenovo A820
- Sony Xperia Z1
- Motorola Moto G
Just like the end of Netflix support on Apple iPhones and iPads blocked under iOS 16, you will have to checkout by purchasing a more recent device to still benefit from WhatsApp.
The opportunity to fall for the recent iPhone 16, Xiaomi 14T, Samsung Galaxy A16, or even Motorola Edge 50 Neo.
