We’ve been talking to you about the Pixel 8a, Google’s next mid-range smartphone, for several months now. At the end of last year, leaker OnLeaks published the first 3D renderings of the device, giving us a great overview of the new smartphone design.

In recent weeks, everything has accelerated. Google accidentally revealed the Pixel 8a’s appearance in an ad, and the smartphone even ended up being spotted with stolen images. With all these leaks, we had a very good idea of what the smartphone was going to look like, but new official renderings have just confirmed everything we already knew.

The Pixel 8a is revealed in images from every angle

A user named @MysteryLupin shared four images on X featuring official renders of the Pixel 8a from every angle. The device is presented from the front and back, and we now know what to expect in terms of colors. Google seems to be preparing 4 different colors for its affordable smartphone: Obsidian (black), Mint (light green), Porcelain (ivory) and Bay (light blue).

As for its design, these new renderings confirm that the Pixel 8a is doing well inherit the design of its predecessors with the famous horizontal bar on the back, which houses the photo sensors, but it will change slightly in format. The smartphone should notably offer more circular borders than those of the Pixel 7a.

Bad news awaits you especially on the front side, since Google seems to have decided to keep imposing black borders all around the screen, which makes the smartphone less modern than we could have hoped. While most manufacturers try to reduce the size of these borders on even their most affordable devices, Google is sticking to its guns here, which is a shame. Despite this, we know that the smartphone should see its price increase compared to its predecessors.
