Are foldable smartphones with a single hinge already a thing of the past? Rumors are that a new and growing trend is emerging to replace them. Dual-hinge devices, which offer an even larger screen when unfolded, could well be the next big thing in the mobile phone market. In a post on the social network Weibo, an anonymous account that regularly posts news about Xiaomi claims that the Chinese manufacturer is the latest to develop such a smartphone.
This company is not new to this field. It has already released several folding screen smartphones, including the Mix Fold 4 and the Mix Flip. Huawei, another famous Chinese manufacturer, is also expected to enter this market. After one of its executives was photographed with a prototype, the company indicated that a production model will be presented before the end of the year. Tecno, another brand active in the foldable smartphone field, has already unveiled its own dual-hinge product called Phantom Ultimate 2. Previously, TCL and Samsung have already unveiled their own concepts.
