As several readers reported on Tuesday afternoon, there was a power outage in the city of Bern. “There has been no power in the city of Bern for around 20 minutes. Nothing is working in the old town and the Kirchenfeld district. Various shops are closed or you can only pay with cash.”
According to EWB media spokesperson Sabine Krähenbühl, this is a local disruption. “The Kirchenfeld and Mattenhof districts are affected. The disruption service is on site and is working hard to resolve the problem.”
According to Alert Swiss, the disruption is in Bern, Wankdorf, Breitenrain, Kirchenfeld and Ostring. The duration of the repair work is currently unknown. “The power has failed in the affected area. There is no danger. The population does not need to take any special measures,” says Alert Swiss.
X-user Sören Meier writes shortly after 12 noon: “Unbelievable, power outage in Bern!” Users respond to his post saying that there is currently no power in the Kirchenfeld district and also in Breitenrain.
