In the Aargau community of Kaisten im Fricktal, a dead person was found in the garden of a residential building on Thursday morning. According to police, the deceased was the municipal mayor Arpad Major.
There is currently no violent crime in the foreground, a media spokesman for the Aargau cantonal police confirmed in response to a report from the Argoviatoday portal. The public prosecutor’s office is clarifying the exact cause of death.
Kaisten belongs to the Laufenburg district and is located on the northern edge of the Aargau Table Jura. The rural residential community has around 2,700 residents.
In a media release, the local council expressed its deepest condolences. Much too early and unexpectedly for everyone, mayor Arpad Major was torn from the middle of his life “by a tragic accident”. Major has been mayor since the beginning of 2018.
