No category change planned
The Brazilian triumphed over the American Khalil Rountree Jr in four rounds, in a fight which consisted of five. The referee was forced to stop the fight during the fourth round as “Poatan”, as he is nicknamed, dominated “The War Horse” without precedent, notably performing a devastating sequence in the last minute of the same round.

Furthermore, Alex Pereira also confirmed on the UFC microphone, after the fight, that he should not change category for the moment: “At -84 kg, my training partner Strickland is going to fight for the belt, I don’t want to get in his way. I can also go up to -120 kg, but I feel good in -93 kg”he said.
If the Brazilian was aiming for another belt, obviously it would be that of the higher category. But it’s not for now.
