As the city of Dietikon writes, thousands of road users move around the street every day.

This requires a lot of attention and consideration from everyone involved. Children and young people in particular are often particularly challenged in today’s road traffic.

Knowledge of correct behavior in road traffic should prevent dangers

As in previous years, the Dietikon city police visited over 1,000 kindergarten and first primary grade children in September and October.

The main focus of the traffic instructors was on correct behavior in traffic in order to counteract possible dangers on the way to school and during free time.

This vital topic is taught by the traffic instructors in an age-appropriate manner and usually includes two lessons per year.

28 fines were also handed out

Before taking on their responsible tasks, the specialists of the Dietikon city police undergo special methodological and didactic training and receive ongoing training.

This year the traffic instructors were supported by the police assistance service. From the 2nd to the 6th primary grades, traffic instructions in Dietikon are carried out by the Zurich Cantonal Police. There is regular communication between the two police corps.

During this year’s traffic instruction, drivers who did not follow the traffic rules were also reported.

A total of 28 fines were issued, most of them for failure to yield right of way at pedestrian crossings.
