Apple announces date for iPhone 16 series launch event, “It’s Glowtime”

Apple has officially announced that it will be hosting a special event on September 9 to unveil the highly-anticipated iPhone 16 series. Apple is using the tagline “It’s Glowtime” for the event, which will take place on September 9 at the Steve Jobs Theater at Apple Park at 10 AM PT/ 1 PM ET 10.30 pm (IST).

The iPhone 16 series is expected to include four models: The standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus, as well as the premium iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max.One of the key features rumored for the new lineup is Apple Intelligence, which is expected to be introduced via a software update after the initial launch.
Another exciting addition to the iPhone 16 series could be a new physical Capture button. This button will allow users to quickly take photos or record videos, and it is rumored to support force-sensitive half-press actions for features like locking exposure, adjusting focus, and zooming in or out.

Special edition of Apple Watch, AirPods Max and more

In addition to the iPhone 16, Apple is also expected to unveil new Apple Watch models. These include the Watch Series 10, Watch Ultra 3, and a more affordable Watch SE. Rumours also suggest that Apple may introduce the second-generation AirPods Max and two new AirPods models.
The event will also serve as a platform for Apple to announce the official release date for iOS 18, iPadOS 18, macOS Sequoia, watchOS 11 and its other major operating systems.
