Aryna Sabalenka will aim for her third consecutive Australian Open title on Saturday. The world number 1 won in the semi-final against the Spaniard Paula Badosa 6-4 6-2.
The 26-year-old Belarusian has conceded only one defeat in Australia in her last six tournaments Down Under. She won her 20th consecutive success in Melbourne on Thursday, dominating her good friend Badosa (WTA 12). On Saturday, she will face either the Polish Iga Swiatek, 2nd in the WTA rankings, or the American Madison Keys, to win her 4th major title.
In the semi-final, Sabalenka was never in danger. She had to overcome the most delicate moment at the start of the match, when Badosa had three chances in a row to lead 3-0. The Spaniard was then powerless, especially on Sabalenka’s serve. After an interesting start to the match, she only managed to score ten points on her return games.
