The Danes lead their group ahead of Germany and Italy
The first day of Group II in Varazdin offered, before France’s performance against Hungary (37-30), two suspenseful endings to matches. North Macedonia first snatched a draw against Austria (29-29) at the last second thanks to a shot from Filip Kuzmanovski from almost 12 meters only deflected into their goals by goalkeeper Florian Kaiper. While the Austrians thought they had done the hardest part by scoring through Lukas Hutecek five seconds from the end. Then the Netherlands won against Qatar (38-37) thanks to a new goal at the buzzer, from Niels Versteijnen whose shot from 9 meters pierced the Qatari wall.
