The National Radio and Television Company (SNRT) dedicated, on Sunday January 19 in Rabat, the winners of the 50th edition of the National Channel survey concerning the best Moroccan athletes of the year 2024. Transmitted on the airwaves, a ceremony dedicated highlighted the champions who distinguished themselves during national, continental and international meetings.
Among women, Amina Dehhaoui was awarded best sportswoman of the year 2024, after her gold medal (less than 55 kg) at the Junior World Taekwondo Championships (South Korea). The same men’s title went to Soufiane El Bakkali, who retained his title in the 3,000m steeplechase as a gold medalist at the Paris Olympics (2024 Olympic Games).
The second and third ranks are respectively occupied by surfer Ramzi Boukhiam, silver medalist at the ISA World Surfing Games (Puerto Rico) and Younes Saddiki, gold medalist at the African Judo Championship (under 60 k) in Cairo.
Among women, second place goes to boxer Khadija El Mardi, gold medalist at the African Championship in Kinshasa (DRC) and quarter-finalist at the 2024 Olympics. Soumiya Iraoui occupies third position, as medalist of gold at the African Judo Championship in Cairo.
For this survey, “the votes were collected from the ranks of representatives of more than 40 media, including national audiovisual media, in addition to written and electronic media,” said a press release from the SNRT.
-Furthermore, the Excellence Award went to the Morocco U23 football selection, which allowed the kingdom to win an Olympic medal (bronze) for the first time in this discipline. Coach Tarik Sektioui was honored for his performances.
The same prize was awarded to Sanae Massaoudi, AS FAR striker and best interclub player in Africa from CAF Awards 2024, but also to the Moroccan champions of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
Were awarded Fatima Ezzahra El Idrissi, gold medalist in the marathon (T12) by breaking the world record, the athlete Aymane El Haddaoui, gold medalist in the 400 m (T47) by breaking the world record and medalist of bronze, Mouncef Bouja, also gold medalist in the 400m (T12).
