The FFF published the following press release on Thursday January 16 regarding the examination of the finance bill for 2025 currently in progress in the Senate.

During the examination of the finance bill for 2025 in the Senate, an amendment proposes an additional reduction in the appropriations for the sport, youth and community life mission to the tune of 123 million euros. This additional reduction would bring the reduction in appropriations for the sports mission to almost 400 million.

At a time when, more than ever because of its essential educational and social role in combating the tensions that our society is experiencing, sport must be helped and its funding supported. After the tremendously successful reception of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, the promise of which was that they would leave a lasting legacy to our country, the French Federation wishes to draw the attention of parliamentarians to the stakes of this debate and the need to to live up to the hopes and enthusiasm aroused in our country by the JOPs.

Maintaining the means of State intervention in sport is a major issue for the social cohesion of our society.
