From 8:00 a.m. this Thursday morning, 130 police officers of the interdepartmental management of the National Police (local staff supported by CRS) carried out the evacuation of 150 travelers and around 50 caravans installed illegally on land owned by the town of Lattes, in Hérault.

This procedure takes place in execution of a decision rendered on July 1, 2024 by the judge responsible for the execution of the Montpellier judicial court noting the acquisition, by the municipality of Lattes, of agricultural land previously seized by the Domaines services (DDFIP) then sold by auction.
“An intolerable situation of illegal occupation”
“By this evacuation, an end is put to a intolerable situation illegal occupation of land by settled travelers and constructions carried out without authorization, on agricultural plots, in contradiction with town planning rules”, declares the Hérault prefecture.
