After having locked down its young nuggets, the USM continues its wave of extensions. The second row Tjiuee Uanivi, the English third row, Karl Wilkins as well as the hooker Kévin Firmin are among those who have reached an agreement with the Tarn-et-Garonnais club.
The new year has barely started and it’s already time to lock in your frames. While l’USM started with the extensions of its young people (Corentin Coularis, Maël Castel and Romain Fonnicola) it is now time to look at the situation of the many players at the end of their contract. While the transfer market is slowly starting to get carried away, the Montalbanese leaders have therefore reached an agreement with Tjiuee Uanivi, Karl Wilkins and Kévin Firmin. The 34-year-old Namibian international, who made a good start to the season, has reportedly signed for an additional year. For his part, the third row, who arrived at the club in 2023, would have extended his contract for two more years. At the heel, Kévin Firmin, who was the only one at the end of his contract in this position, would also have agreed to extend the adventure by two years. And these three weren’t the only ones at the end of their contract. Among the forwards the list is particularly long.
Negotiations in progress
At the pillar position we find Léo Aouf, Lucas Seyrolle, Malino Vanaï, Mirian Burduli and Tietie Tuimauga. In the second row three players are concerned: Kévin Gimeno, Dimitri Vaotoa and Lewis Bean. For the last city, the negotiations would be on track to succeed to continue the adventure in green and black. In the third row, there remain Fred Quercy and Tyrone Viiga. A hell of a pile of files on the desks of the Montalban staff and leaders. Situations which should be regularized in the coming weeks to be able to delve more seriously into recruitment for the 2025-2026 season. As a reminder, this Friday Montauban will host Valence-Romans at 7:30 p.m.. Currently, Sébastien Tillous-Borde’s men and his staff are in eighth place in the championship.
