There are weekends when all the planets align correctly. This was the case this Saturday after the end of year celebrations and where the four teams entered, in the championship and in the cup, all won.
Regional 1
Arin Luzien resumes its march forward with its success at home against Porte-Entre-Deux-Mers (double from Poncelet). It is a very good accounting operation which allows Thomas Tapia’s players to remain in the good half of the ranking and to keep the direct competition a little further away for maintenance. The Beltzak push the Gironde club back five lengths and with the advantage of the particular goal average (1-0, 2-0). This is the Luziens’ fifth success this season in Kechiloa and it allows them to approach the end of the month a little more calmly with two consecutive trips to Bergerac B and Mazères.
New Aquitaine Cup
The Bayonne Crusaders blew hot and cold on the Argenté field in Mont-de-Marsan. Picked cold with a goal conceded from the start (6th, 1-0), Maxime Cazenave’s players then waited until the last quarter of an hour before scoring three goals by Iralour (74th, 1-1), Fernandez (84th, 1-2) and Santacruz (87th, 1-3). Almost qualified, they then conceded two goals in stoppage time (3-3) before qualifying in the final event (4-2 in the tabs). The Bayonne players maintain their momentum from the first part of the season and qualify for the 7th round.
They will be accompanied by the Genêts d’Anglet reserve who defeated Bouscat (1-0, Mansare). “We showed great values in a very committed match against a very good team,” said Laurent Alvera, the Angloy coach.
For its part, Tarnos achieved the feat of the day. Leaders of R3, Vincent Saüt’s players qualified in Biscarrosse (R2) by the smallest of margins (1-0, Jo. Durand). “We achieved a nice performance with a reshuffled group against a leader of R2, at home,” commented the Tango and Noir coach.
