The feat will be a landmark in the club’s history. This morning, at the club, some still don’t believe it. And yet, this Sunday, January 12, La Maladrerie qualified for the round of 16 of the Gambardella Cup (the French Cup for under-18s) against PSG (1-1, 5-4 t.a.b.).
A performance all the more resounding as the scenario of the match was incredible with a breathtaking penalty shootout, punctuated by numerous saves from the two goalkeepers. But that of the MOS, Antonin Levassort, ended up being decisive thanks to a save on the last Parisian shot on goal, before Leboulanger qualifies the Maladrerie in a melting Joseph-Deterville stadium.
On Monday morning, club president Thierry Deslandes still has his eyes shining: “It was a historic day. We have never had people in our stadium.”
