Luke Durbridge won this Sunday the Australian Championships road race, ahead of his teammate Luke Plappwho left him with the victory after catching him. It is therefore a double for the Team Jayco AlUlaof which the two runners are part. This victory constitutes for Durbridge his second national road race title, but this one will have a special flavor for him, originally from Perth, where the finish of the race was located. This double concludes a spectacular week in Australia for the Team Jayco AlUlawith a total record of four victories and three other podiums.

Luke Durbridge reacted after his victory: “It was amazing, I just want to thank the whole team. What they did behind me, not just Plappy, but everyone who was blocking all day, allowed me to follow my own race. I gave everything I had quite early, maybe a little too ambitious, but it’s my way of racing. When Plappy caught up with me, he said ‘follow my wheel’ and he got me. left the victory, it’s a gentleman, I will never forget it. Thanks to my teammates, the guys at GreenEDGE Cycling, it’s my family, it’s always been my team, and I’m very, very proud to wear this jersey.”.

We’re in his hometown, he showed us around, he loves it here, his family is here.
