The Fribourgeois remains unbeatable on the Vertical. In Azerbaijan, he once again won with a head start. The Swiss skiers remained without a podium.
Rémi Bonnet remains the king of the Vertical. The Freiburger won in Shahdag on Saturday to sign his second victory of the winter with no less than 30 seconds ahead of the Austrian Christof Hochenwarter. The Belgian from Vercorin, Maximilien Drion, completed the podium.
The Swiss team, however, was unable to repeat the feat of the day before in a sprint, nor that of Courchevel last month. Aurélien Gay finished 7th, ahead of Robin and Thomas Bussard, 14th and 18th. Loïc Dubois (22nd) and Lucas Pasquier (34th) finished further back.
-For the ladies, the vertical event ended without a Swiss podium, Thibe Deseyn finishing in 8th place at best, followed by Alessandra Schmid (11th) and Laura Bocchino (12th). The French champion Axelle Gachet-Mollaret won once again, ahead of the Austrian Johanna Hiemer by 52″6 and the winner of the women’s sprint the day before, Emily Harrop.
