Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine is the Molson Cup winner for the December segment.
Laine was named first star on four occasions and third star on one occasion, in addition to leading the NHL with eight power play goals, tying him for fourth in the League in this regard this season.
Laine made his debut with the Canadiens on December 3 against the Islanders, scoring his first goal with the team. On December 21 in Detroit, he became the first player in NHL history to score eight consecutive power play goals for a team. With the 11th hat trick of his career, achieved on December 17 against Buffalo, Laine is now third among Finnish players in NHL history in this category.
A presentation honoring the Molson Cup winner for the month of December took place before Saturday night’s game against the Dallas Stars at the Bell Centre.
