  • The Footballers Unfiltered series will reveal a little-known aspect of the players’ lives.
  • Giorgio Chiellini is the first guest of the series.
  • With one episode per month, the series will be recorded in Spotify studios.

Former England goalkeeper Joe Hart will host ‘Footballers Unfiltered’, a new series in which he invites players to speak candidly about important but little-discussed topics in professional football.

In the first episode, Hart speaks with Giorgio Chiellini about preparing for a second career, even as he continues his success as a footballer. In the coming weeks, Hart will speak with other players about topics including social media misuse, eating disorders and match-fixing.

The series, which will be recorded at Spotify’s London studios, coincides with FIFPRO’s 60th anniversary and each episode will feature a representative of the union: the first podcast with Chiellini features Chris Higgins, a former footballer who advises players about life after football at the Scottish PFA.

Hart, who played for Manchester City and Celtic and represented England on 75 occasions, is embarking on a second career as a rising star in football broadcasting. He appears regularly on the BBC’s Match of the Day and provides commentary for TNT Sports’ live coverage of the UEFA Champions League in the UK.
