Official: Standard lends one of its great talents to the Pro League – The latest transfers

Hakim Sahabo will receive playing time in the Jupiler Pro League in the second half of the season. The Rwandan international is on loan from Standard to Beerschot.

Great hope from Standard de Liège revealed at the start of last year, Justice Sahabo had quickly fallen back into the anonymity of D1 ACFF. The 19-year-old midfielder will now have the opportunity to prove his qualities: he will finish the 2024-2025 season on loan at Beerschot.

Sahabo was integrated into Standard’s A team a year ago, in January 2024. An important player for SL 16, the Belgian-Rwandan made his debut on January 20 and immediately played 90 minutes. In total, he would end up taking part in 18 Jupiler Pro League matches for the Rouches.

This season, however, Ivan Leko no longer seemed to pay as much attention to the talent born in Brussels, trained partly in Anderlecht, Genk and Standard and returned from LOSC to SL 16 in 2023. Starting in Europe Playoffs with the A team , Hakim Sahabo moved to D1 ACFF with the U23s.

After 6 months without playing a single minute in the Pro League, the Rwandan international (6 caps) will therefore try to get back on track at Beerschot, where he is on loan until the end of the season. The Antwerp club does not have a purchase option.

Hakim Sahabo is under contract at Standard until 2026, and will therefore have a new opportunity to convince Number 16 next summer if he wins at Kiel in the second half of the season.
