PSG is looking to back up Achraf Hakimi…desperately

According to Romain Beddouk, journalist at Infosport, in the perspective of a rotation which would blow away the semi-finalist of the 2022 World Cup, the club from the French capital is struggling to find a backup for its vice-captain due to the versatile profile of the Lion of the ‘Atlas.

“Each coach has his own working method and that of Luis Enrique is to have a strong squad, if possible with doubled positions. Not that we should put Hakimi in competition, he’s PSG’s best player this season, that’s why he signed his extension during the winter. explains Romain Beddouk.

The Atlas Lion needs to breathe

In reality Luis Enrique seeks to protect his right side who played most of the matches for PSG, the Atlas Lions and even played in the Olympics. The Spanish technician would also like to have a backup for Achraf Hakimi in the event of an injury.

“But Achraf Hakimi needs to breathe, it’s normal, PSG plays a lot, he played a lot in 2024 since he was even there during the Olympic Games and so we just need one more player capable of holding the position history to make Hakimi blow from time to time,” believes the journalist.

Looking for the rare pearl…not easy

And Romain Beddouk continues “It’s not easy to find a player of a decent level but who will accept from now on not playing much. In addition, with the extension of Achraf Hakimi, the prospects would not be any clearer for this player. You have to look and find the rare pearl but it’s really not easy to find.”

In conclusion, looking for Achraf Hakimi’s understudy is not an easy mission. “There really isn’t a miracle solution, I feel. We just have to hope that Achraf Hakimi does not have a physical problem, because there we would really be short of solutions,” concludes the journalist.
