Hugues Renson is an angry man, “stunned, revolted”. This September 5, 2024, in the office of investigating judge Vincent Lemonier, the former deputy for and former Macronist vice-president of the National Assembly (2017-2022) feels “like a fucking injustice” to see his name “thrown out to pasture” and to be interviewed as part of a first appearance interrogation in the so-called “barbouzeries” file around Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Before being indicted for “influence peddling by a person invested with a public elective mandate”, Mr. Renson becomes annoyed when the magistrate reminds him that he obtained from the Parisian football club, property of the fund Qatar Sports Investments, 26 places in the VIP “square” at the Parc des Princes, from 2017 to 2021, and a total of 58 places from 2017 to 2022 for him and his loved ones. According to the judicial elements including The World has taken note, he puts the number of these invitations into perspective “protocol”recalling that “a good number of elected officials from Paris, local elected officials, parliamentarians, elected officials from communities, partners from all sides” benefit from this type of advantage.
