The winter holidays were an opportunity to make major improvements in several communal spaces. Future-oriented developments, for example the installation of destratifiers at the Jean-Lurçat village hall, at the COSEC Gautier (gym), at the Michel-Poirier Sports Center (rooms 1 and 2) as well as at the René-Jounny gymnasium. This equipment, which is similar to large fans attached to the ceiling, makes it possible to return the heat accumulated under the roof to the ground. The destratifiers thus homogenize the temperature by reducing heating (up to 30% savings).
In the same logic, the René-Jounny gymnasium has also been equipped with LED lights, with a system which allows 3 different intensity levels depending on the configurations: 40% for schools, 70% for training, 100% for competitions .
A change immediately adopted by athletes, particularly those from Badminton Sud-Essonne (BSE): “It’s very positive, at all levels. We discovered these installations during a competition on January 6. Local and foreign players particularly appreciated it. Visibility is much better. This dazzles less than before, especially on high ruffles. Even for photos, which were yellow before and are now white. We are happy with this approach which fits perfectly into our policy as an eco-responsible club,” assures Gilles Bekaert, vice-president of the BSE.

After the streets of Étampes, the sports facilities are thus affected by these improvements. An expected and essential step according to Jean-Michel Josso (deputy mayor in charge of the works) and Joël Nolleau (delegate of the mayor in charge in particular of the energy transition): “While Jo-Bouillon has already been equipped in 2024, the stadiums Laloyeau, Minier and du Pont-de-Pierre will be there during the year, in particular thanks to subsidies granted by the Region and the Agglomeration. A green and sustainable pact for sport that benefits everyone. »
