Real Madrid’s Brazilian striker, Vinicius Junior, was handed a two-match suspension by the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) on Tuesday, after the red card received during the Madrilenians’ victory (2-1) in Valencia, last Friday in La Liga.
According to the report of the RFEF disciplinary committee, the sanction imposed on the Brazilian international is justified “by violent behavior outside the framework of the game, without the possibility of contesting the ball or during a stoppage of play”.
The Real Madrid striker will miss his team’s La Liga matches against Las Palmas and Real Valladolid.
The match referee specified in his report that Vinícius’ expulsion was due to the fact that he had “hit an opponent in the head deliberately, while the ball was not in play, using significant force”.
The Brazilian winger, who was returning from suspension after an accumulation of yellow cards, deliberately hit goalkeeper Stole Dimitrievski’s head after an altercation between the two players, which resulted in him being sent off.
