A tough blow for PSG. For its debut in the Champions League this season, the capital club will be without one of its leaders, Wednesday, against Girona (9 p.m.), at the Parc des Princes. “Following muscle discomfort in the right thigh felt during yesterday’s match against Brest, Gianluigi Donnarumma will remain in treatment this week,” PSG announced this Sunday in a press release.

Safonov promoted to starter?

Starting on Saturday against Stade Brestois (3-1), on the occasion of the fourth day of Ligue 1, Donnarumma did not show any particular discomfort. He did not have to work hard either, only being beaten in the first half on the penalty converted by Romain Del Castillo.

It remains to be seen who will be in goal for Paris to host Girona. On Saturday, it was Matvey Safonov who was on the bench. Having arrived during the summer transfer window from Krasnodar for around 20 million euros, will the 23-year-old Russian make his official match debut in his new colours?

Or will Luis Enrique turn to the Spaniard Arnau Tenas (23 years old)? Last season, the former FC Barcelona player took part in six Ligue 1 matches.
