The Quebec Capitales have not yet made any official announcement on this subject, but Quebecer Pier-Olivier Boucher could very well wear the team’s colors during the 2025 season.

“We are very interested in his services,” simply confirms manager Patrick Scalabrini, regarding the possibility of seeing Boucher join the Capitals.
“Could Pier-Olivier deserve his chance at our next training camp? Absolutely, adds President Charles Demers. Does he already have a signed contract with the Capitals? The answer is no.”
Aged 25, the athlete from Beauce becomes, to say the least, an interesting target for the Capitals after being released by the Atlanta Braves organization last summer. He has also unofficially received his invitation to the next camp of the Quebec team of the Ligue Frontière.
If the marriage has not yet been proclaimed, an association between Boucher and the Capitals nevertheless seems natural. Growing up in Saint-Joseph-de-Beauce, the young man attended the Canonniers sports-studies program, in the Quebec region, and he played for the Charlesbourg Alouettes, in the Junior Elite Baseball League.
Finished for Lacroix
Boucher’s name is in the crosshairs while it should be noted that Quebec outfielder Jonathan Lacroix will not be back with the Capitals in 2025. However, on defense, Boucher plays in the outfield.

Selected in 10e round by the Braves during the 2023 major baseball draft, the outfielder progressed to level A with the Augusta Green Jackets. Despite a batting average below .200, Boucher managed to draw his share of walks in addition to deploying his speed on the trails.
After the Americans Jake MacKenzie and Tommy Seidl in 2024, Boucher is another who could increase the number of stolen goals next season at Stade Canac. However, the Quebecer, former color wearer of Southern Illinois University, in the NCAA (in 2022 and 2023), will obviously have to earn his place at the next training camp.
Quirion: a priority
Among the other Quebecers, Anthony Quirion should normally be back with the Capitales in 2025. For good reason, he is the one who allowed the team to win a third consecutive championship, with the help of a three-run winning circuit at the end of the ninth inning, on September 14, in front of the crowd at Stade Canac.

“Quirion and [Marc-Antoine] Lebreux are among my priorities among Quebecers who should come back,” confirmed Scalabrini.
