When Patrik Laine returned to the game, it gave CH the spark they needed to get back to winning.
And even if his absence for three matches does not too much badly, the fact remains that the Canadian must be eager to see him again. After all, he’s good… but it would also take Michael Pezzetta out of the lineup.
Because yes, you will have noticed that Pezzetta is not Martin St-Louis’ favorite. His 34 games out of the lineup and his short playing time (4:46 on average since his return) are good clues on this subject.
I have often mentioned that for the good of the player and for that of the CH, sending Pezzetta on waivers must be done. And I maintain my position even if Pezz has been playing for three games.
Knowing who to call back in his place (without affecting the Rocket too much unnecessarily) would be another challenge, but oh well.
But what you need to know is that if no one is injured between now and Friday, during the next game in Washington, the chances of seeing Pezz return to the stands are still good.
For what? Because this morning, on BPM Sports with Max Lalonde and Gilbert Delorme, Renaud Lavoie said that we should expect to see Laine back in the game.
Laine, who has been ill for a few days, is expected to train this week with the group.
We will not be able to have details today since the CH has the day off, but it will be interesting to know if the Finn will be able to train tomorrow morning, around sixty hours before the match on Friday evening.
Note also that David Savard, for his part, is a more uncertain case for Friday. This will depend on the opinion of the doctors, who may want to give him more rest before returning to the game so as not to injure himself further.
And the way Jayden Struble played yesterday, taking him out of the lineup at all costs isn’t exactly necessary.

– It will be the Dodgers or the Padres, in my opinion.
