Jakub Dobes was almost perfect in his first two NHL starts and no one is surprised by the Canadian.

In his first start, he blanked the defending Stanley Cup champion Panthers in Florida. He then got his second career NHL victory against the 2022 champions, the Colorado Avalanche, whom he defeated in a shootout.
The 23-year-old Czech has allowed only one goal on 57 shots during these two games so he has a goals against average of 0.48 and an efficiency rate of .982.
“I knew his name. I am very close to Laurent Dauphin, he spoke to me about it quickly. I’m super impressed,” said Alexandre Carrier with enthusiasm, he who likes the calm of his goalkeeper.
“The calm he has in front of the net is what makes him so successful. As a defender, when you feel like your goalie is calm like that, even in his first two games in the National League, it gives you the confidence to make plays and be more aggressive.

Emil Heineman knows Dobes well since they spent last season together with the Laval Rocket. The Swede isn’t surprised in the least by the brilliance with which Dobes presented himself in the NHL.
“He won a lot of games for us last year and I believe he can do the same thing here and he showed it in these two games,” he began by saying.

“I think he raises his level of play when there’s a lot of pressure, he thrives on that kind of thing, but he’s a very good goalkeeper so I’m not at all surprised that he did so well plays.”
