Former Manchester City star could make return

Manchester City are reportedly closely monitoring a former club player, famous for his talent.

Since 2018, Manchester City have won 6 of the last 7 Premier Leagues, creating an impressive dynasty under Pep Guardiola. Upon his arrival in 2016, Guardiola transformed Manchester City’s identity, establishing the club as a benchmark both domestically and internationally. Although they didn’t win their first Champions League until 2023, the Citizens have long been close to achieving this.

However, this season, things don’t go as planned. The Citizens lost qfour consecutive matches in the leagueallowing Liverpool to take the lead in the title race. In the Champions League, Manchester City have lost two of their last three matches and drawn one. Manchester City’s current cycle of success appears to have reached a plateau, and new players could come and strengthen the Spanish coach’s team. According to Insider, the Sky Blues supervise a player they know well, Leroy Sané. The Bayern Munich player will be free to commit wherever he wishes at the end of the season, and Manchester City would be interested in a possible return.

A triumphant return for Leroy Sané

When Leroy Sané arrived at Manchester City in 2016, he was only 20 years old. The German was considered a future star of world football, having made his impressive debut with Schalke 04. His talent quickly established itself in the Premier League, and he was voted best young player in the championship just two years later. With 10 goals and 15 assists in 32 games that seasonLeroy Sané has established himself as one of the best in his position, at only 22 years old.

Under the leadership of Pep GuardiolaLeroy Sané played mainly as a left winger. However, since his move to Bayern Munich in 2020, he has found himself more on the right side. Back in Germany, Sané is no longer unanimous, and five years after his arrival, he is close to leaving, the Bavarian club being less inclined to extend his contract. A return to Manchester City, free of any contract, could represent an interesting opportunity for the English club.
