Morbihan indoor championships in Saint-Brieuc, this Sunday

First of all, what is your assessment of your first year with the Espoirs?

A very good record. I didn’t expect to have such a good season. Finally, this is the first year where I reached two national podiums, one last winter during the French indoor (2nd) and the other this summer (3rd). It was a very good season…

A year ago almost to the day, there was a record in too…

Yes ! But I didn’t have it for long. Maïwenn (L’Hévéder) picked it up very quickly. When I did it, I had no idea that it was Brittany’s record. It was my coach (Mickaël Riou) who told me afterwards. It was a bonus and it was a personal pride to achieve my best personal time (7”46 over 60 m). I had already beaten my personal best from the previous year! I thought it was starting off very well. In each competition, I did almost better each time.

The year 2025 resumes with the departmentals. What will the project be in Saint-Brieuc?

I’m only going to do the 200m because I still haven’t run one since I returned to school a little over three weeks ago at the Brittany University Championships. I don’t expect much, just to have fun, for this resumption of competition without too much pressure.

And your ambitions for 2025?

I don’t put too many times or places in mind. I’ll see how it goes. I will try to improve in the pushing phase: starts are my weak point and I know that I can improve on that. With my small injuries (notably my hamstrings in September), I lacked muscle and it shows.

Already, the fact of having qualified made me very happy because I really didn’t expect it. Afterwards, it wasn’t a very good competition. Usually, I like challenges. But here, I admit that I wasn’t very successful in handling it with the pressure of running alongside such strong girls. It’s still a good experience.
