This is one of the terrible stories of the week. Barely transferred from the Lakers to Brooklyn with D’Angelo Russellagainst Dorian Finney-Smith and Shake Milton, the winger Maxwell Lewis did not last more than a minute before collapsing Wednesday evening on the Houston floor. It was his very first match in his new colors.
The verdict came on Friday, Maxwell Lewis suffered a fractured left tibia! The exact duration of his unavailability was not specified by the Nets, except that his state of health will be re-examined in a month. The franchise also clarified that it did not expect its player to miss the entire end of the season. For the moment, unlike Jaden Ivey who also broke his leg, the franchise does not mention an operation, and Lewis should therefore be content with a cast and rest.
Selected in 40th position in the 2023 Draft, Maxwell Lewis could therefore have a new opportunity to show himself with Brooklyn after having had to scrounge up crumbs of time at the Lakers for almost a year and a half.
