It was announced and it is now official: Sporting Charleroi part ways with Youssuf Sylla. Forward Carolo is loaned to Willem II.
Youssuf Sylla (22 years old) is not having an easy season. The Sporting Charleroi striker played 13 matches with the A team, without finding the net, and was even briefly sent back to D1 ACFF with the U23s, playing 4 matches there.
With Sporting looking for a striker, it was first necessary to prune the core, because Rik De Mil already has several options up front, even if few stack the goals. It was therefore Sylla who was sent on loan to Willem II, as the club made official this Saturday.
Youssuf Sylla is loaned with an option to buy within the Dutch club; if he convinces in the Eredivisie, he could therefore not return to Mambourg. But Charleroi could therefore make a profitable operation for the striker, who is reaching the end of his contract.
Arriving in 2023 from Zulte Waregem where he completed his training, Youssuf Sylla will have played 37 matches with the Zèbres, scoring 3 goals. With the Zébra Elites, he played 15 matches for two goals scored.
