AS FAR and Raja de Casablanca will be in action this Saturday, January 4, respectively against Maniema and Mamelodi Sundowns, as part of the return phase of the competition. The Military will be determined to assert their leadership, while the Raja of Casablanca will not have the right to make mistakes in order to get through the next round.
AS FAR, at the top of Group B of the 2024-2025 CAF Champions League, begins the return phase of the competition this Saturday in Meknes, where it will face Maniema United, currently third with 3 points.
The Military are counting on a favorable performance from Raja, against the South Africans of Mamelodi Sundowns at the Larbi Zaouli stadium at 8 p.m.
Last in group B, the Greens must not miss out in order to maintain their chances of qualifying. A success or draw for Raja would also be beneficial for AS FAR, who could then widen the gap in the lead.
With a victory and two draws to its credit, AS FAR enters the fourth day with the objective of confirming its domination. For the first time, the Military will host at the Stade d’Honneur in Meknes, after having won their only victory in Casablanca against Raja.
On the other hand, the task promises to be difficult for the RCA. Indeed, the green club will have to arm itself offensively and defensively against Mamelodi Sundowns, the team which caused the departure of Ricardo Sa Pinto after a 1-0 defeat in Pretoria. With zero victories in three matches, the Aigles Verts have no choice but to win their last three matches to hope for qualification.
