This time, it is Joan Laporta, president of Barça, who fuels the controversy with a surprising WhatsApp message. Indeed, Gerard Romero's Jijantes show revealed a screenshot of a text published by Laporta in his WhatsApp status on Friday evening.
This message, posted at 9:19 p.m., resembles an official press release, although truncated, in which the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) would have agreed with Barça. The text states that article 130.2 of the RFEF regulations, invoked in this case, does not apply. According to this message, the departures of players do not result from the will of the club but from independent circumstances. Laporta maintains that this interpretation aims to guarantee the stability of the squad, in accordance with the spirit of the regulation. However, this statement contradicts the official position of the RFEF and LaLiga, who maintain that the file is “out of time”. Laporta, according to internal sources, is still waiting for an official response from the Federation.

“The RFEF, after hearing the arguments of the club, agrees that article 130.2 of the RFEF Regulations is NOT applicable to the case of Dani Olmo/Pau Víctor, given that, in this case, the cancellation of their registration does not arise from the will of the club (as indicated in the article) but is explained by external factors contrary to the will of the club. This interpretation of the rule is consistent with the clear objective of this article, namely to promote the stability of player numbers, and not to lead to unjustified changes.
