Leader of the solo race, the skipper of Macif Santé Prévoyance took advantage of last night to consolidate his position.

Charlie Dalin almost doubled his lead overnight from Friday to Saturday, which was more than 120 miles ahead of Yoann Richomme in the Vendée Globe in the early hours of Saturday morning.

At 7:00 a.m. (06:00 GMT), Dalin (MACIF Santé Prévoyance) was 121.88 miles ahead of Richomme (PAPREC ARKÉA), compared to 65.95 the day before at 7:00 p.m. After crossing a zone of light wind, the sailboats of the two leaders regained speed, with stronger winds.

Dalin and Richomme widened the gap on the third, Sébastien Simon (Groupe Dubreuil), who chose the option of going back north along the Brazilian coast, now relegated to more than 500 miles from the lead.

During the night, Jean Le Cam (It all begins in Finistère – Armor Lux, 16th) in turn crossed Cape Horn.
