According to what journalist Anthony Marcotte reports, general managers Kyle Dubas of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Bill Armstrong of the Utah Club and Don Sweeney of the Boston Bruins will spy on the farm clubs of the Montreal Canadiens and the Vancouver Canucks.
However, according to TVA Sports informant Renaud Lavoie, the three GMs will attend the meeting in order to primarily observe the hopes of the Canucks. The organization is currently going through a major internal crisis, including a conflict between star players Elias Pettersson and JT Miller.
Still according to Lavoie, a transaction involving “a big name” from the British Columbia team is increasingly likely.
Dubas, Armstrong and Sweeney were present at the World Junior Championship games in Ottawa the day before. With no games scheduled for Friday, it made sense for the three hockey men to make the short trip to Laval to watch the Canucks’ prospects.
