The Miami Heat suspended Jimmy Butler for seven games on Friday, and the Florida organization said it will attempt to trade the 35-year-old.
The Heat said the suspension was for conduct detrimental to the team during the season and particularly in the final weeks
.
Through his actions and his statements, he demonstrated that he no longer wanted to be part of this team
the Heat said in a statement, a day after Butler said in a press briefing that he didn’t think he could be happy playing in Miami moving forward.
Butler will not be with the team for its game Saturday against the Utah Jazz, then for the entirety of a six-game trip to Sacramento (Kings), San Francisco (Warriors), Salt Lake City (Jazz ), in Portland (Trail Blazers) and Los Angeles (Lakers and Clippers).
Butler could play again with the Heat no earlier than January 17 against the Denver Nuggets. But everything indicates that he played his last match with Miami.
Jimmy Butler and his agent have indicated that he wants to be traded, therefore we will listen to offers
said the Heat.
