Jaraaf faces Orapa United in an empty Stade Abdoulaye Wade

Jaraaf de Dakar finds itself in a delicate position in the CAF Cup before its decisive match against Orapa United, scheduled for this Sunday, December 5 at the Stade Abdoulaye Wade. Currently 3rd in its group with only two points, the Senegalese club must win in an empty stadium to hope to qualify.

This Sunday, December 5, for the 4th day, Jaraaf will host Orapa United of Botswana at the Abdoulaye Wade Stadium in Diamniadio. A crucial match for the Medina club, but which will be played in special conditions. Due to the incidents that occurred during the reception of USM Alger, CAF imposed a sanction on Jaraaf, forcing it to play behind closed doors. This decision places the team in a difficult, even disadvantageous situation. Violent clashes between supporters during the match against USM Algiers led CAF to take a harsh decision, despite appeals from the Senegalese club. The confederation has in fact required Jaraaf to play two matches behind closed doors, in addition to suspended sanctions. It will therefore be in a deserted Stade Abdoulaye Wade, without the support of its fervent supporters, that Malick Daf’s men will have to face Orapa United.

The absence of an audience represents a major handicap for a team which, usually, draws its energy and motivation from the electric atmosphere of its supporters. Far from the usual chants and encouragement, the Jaraaf players will have to show determination and team spirit to overcome this ordeal. Currently 3rd in their group, they must win against Orapa United, last in the group, to maintain their chances of qualifying, in a group where only the first two advance to the quarter-finals.
