Standard was fined by the Belgian Union. The Rouches deplore the two events that occurred against Louvain which are the cause.
A month ago, supporters of Standard livened up the meeting against Louvain with smoke bombs and Bengal fires in the stands. An episode less and less to the taste of the federation, which pursues a policy of zero tolerance in this matter.
Belga reports that the Disciplinary Committee for Professional Football of the Belgian Union has imposed a fine of 1,000 euros on the club. An amount that could have been higher: the fact that it had no impact on the progress of the meeting worked in favor of Rouches.
But that’s not all: the Liégeois also received a fine of 1,500 euros for throwing a lighter towards Lawrence Visser, the referee of the match.
Antwerp also had to be held accountable
Helpless, the Standard recalled that “the numerous efforts that the club has already made to identify the author of the act, but which have not yet succeeded for various reasons”. The club will therefore have to pay a total fine of 2,500 euros, or 1,000 less than the initial proposal.
L’Antwerp is also in the sights of the Disciplinary Committee: during the match against Club Brugge, the supporters fired rockets towards Gustaf Nilsson and the blauw en zwart supporters. The Great Old Man had to come up with a plan of action. If it is not respected, the planned sanction is two away matches without fans, one home match with a closed stand and a fine of 5,000 euros.
