The Ministry of Transport and Logistics announced on Friday the postponement for a period of 24 months of the entry into force of the application of the “Euro 6” standard for certain categories of vehicles.

This postponement applies to vehicles of categories M2, M3, N1, N2 and N3, with regard to approval and registration, while for vehicles of category M1 (light private vehicles), no modification has been made. been made, specifies the ministry in a press release.

This measure follows the publication, in Official Bulletin No. 7361 of December 16, 2024, of the joint order of the Minister of Transport and Logistics and the Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, No. 2094-24 of December 11, 2024, modifying and supplementing the joint order of the Minister of Equipment and Transport and the Secretary of State to the Minister of Energy, Mines, Water and the Environment, in charge of Water and the Environment, No. 2835-10 of December 25, 2010, setting the conditions for approval of vehicles with regard to the emission of pollutants according to the engine’s fuel requirements, indicates the same source.

As a reminder, the Euro 6 standard is a European regulation aimed at reducing polluting emissions from vehicles, in particular nitrogen oxides (NOx), fine particles and hydrocarbons, to limit their impact on the environment and public health.
