Zanka is having a difficult time at Anderlecht. Silvio Proto spoke about his case.
A quiet match to end the year while waiting for the return of Jan Vertonghen: that’s what Zanka needed against Dender. But it was quite the opposite that happened: the Danish defender was still out of his depth, his balls did not go unnoticed during the defeat against the promoted side, the purple supporters booed him copiously.
Silvio Proto did not hide his annoyance regarding him: “He accumulates so many errors that at one point, he will have to be replaced. Hubert must give young people a chance, like Amando Lapage. We have already lost months with him” declared -he last week.

But seeing a player being booed by his own crowd every time he touches the ball is something else again: “I experienced it too. At one point, I was whistled by my own supporters. You want to tell them to shut up, that you are on the pitch to do your best, that a day without can happen” he explains this Saturday at the microphone of RTL Sports.
“The fans saw Jan Vertonghen come back” continues the former Sporting goalkeeper, trying to imagine the reasoning of Lotto Park: “Now, we can put the stopgap on the side, we will push to bring back our captain” he lends as state of mind to Anderlecht sympathizers.
The situation is in any case more untenable: against Dender, Zanka showed that he heard these constant boos and that he did not understand. The 34-year-old defender only signed until the end of the season.
