The Talent League. For years, the French championship has seen many phenomena. Among them, there was Paul-Georges Ntep. After completing his training at AJ , the native of Douala took his first professional steps there in October 2010. A great talent in the eyes of all observers, he participated in 63 matches in all competitions (22 goals ) in 4 years. He also caught the eye of Stade Rennais. A club where he experienced ups and downs. Then, he wore the colors of Wolfsburg, ASSE (loan), Kayserispor (loan), Guingamp and Boavista, before heading off on an adventure to Vietnam with Ho Chi Minh City FC. He only played 10 games there (1 goal) before leaving. Free since, the Cameroonian international (4 caps, 1 goals), who played with the French youth teams, has not found the right fit. This Thursday, he announced that he was ending his career at the microphone of Blue. “My career, for me, is over. I have moved on in my head and have other plans. I enjoyed what I experienced, I enjoyed Vietnam. But for me, football today is just good memories but it's over. I have entrepreneurial projects, these are personal development projects and opening companies, doing concrete things. In the region? Possibly, I wouldn't know if it will come right away, but within one to two years, I would like to open something here, yes.”

Ntep looks back on his career and his regrets

He continues on this subject: “It was three very intense years in my life. I learned a lot, I met a lot of people and I really fell in love with the city. I would say that it was perhaps my three best years, the most beautiful years of my life (…) I am often told that I left good memories, at a time when it was a little complicated for the Stadium. Seeing the development of the club afterwards, at a certain point, there is a bit of nostalgia because I would have liked to experience certain emotions, the Coupe de France, the European Cup, etc. But I don't regret it. I was there at a difficult time, but I really enjoyed it. I met people who are still close friends to this day. I feel good when I’m here.”

Ntep spoke about his career and the few regrets he may have had. “I was always a guy who really enjoyed making an assist rather than scoring. Afterwards it is true that when you score a goal where you go alone, we will say that it is you, but when you are the passer, that you are on the side like me when I was a winger, that you must eliminate two defenders and then serve your attacker on a plate, for me, that has always been the best. It’s true that I would have liked to be more of a killer, more efficient in front of goal, but I always preferred to be a decisive pass player.” The 32-year-old was asked about his relationship with football now. “I follow football less. In previous seasons, I followed the club quite a bit”he concluded, decided to turn this important page in his life.
