The Red Devils are eyeing a talent from Genk

After a slightly less convincing period, KRC Genk impressed again on Sunday by signing a convincing victory against the Mauves et Blancs. Several players managed to stand out, notably the young prodigy Konstantinos Karetsas.

A rising star at Genk

Although he is only 17 years old, Karetsas is already considered one of the greatest talents in Belgian football. In previous seasons, he has regularly shown flashes of his immense potential with Jong Genk. This season, he also made an impression within the Racing first team.

A remarkable performance against Anderlecht

On Sunday, this technically skilled attacking midfielder caused a sensation again. During the clash against his former club, Anderlecht, Thorsten Fink gave him a place in the starting lineup. Karetsas fully justified this confidence by delivering a solid performance, capped by his first goal in the colors of the Genk first team.

Mannaert takes action

If he can stay focused and healthy, Karetsas looks set for an exceptional career, something that could also benefit the national team. But although he has regularly played for Belgium's youth teams, he remains eligible to represent Greece.

The Greek federation is actively trying to seduce him. In response, the KBVB also accelerated the file. According to The Latest Newssports director Vincent Mannaert recently contacted the young talent's entourage. A meeting to discuss his international future would be imminent.

Le soutien de Vandevoordt

Convincing Karetsas and his family to opt for the Red Devils therefore rests on Mannaert, who could benefit from the support of several Devils players. Karetsas' former teammate Maarten Vandevoordt is ready to step in.

“I already knew last season that Kos is an excellent player. If he continues to work, he will become a very great player,” the goalkeeper told DAZN. Asked about his potential role in Karetsas' decision, Vandevoordt added: “I will do my best, yes! It would be magnificent. »
