It was Norway who dominated the first round of the Alta Badia slalom. Timon Haugan is ahead of Atle Lie McGrath by 0”31, while Daniel Yule is in 6th place at 1”18. Second round from 1:20 p.m. on RTS 2.
Will Daniel Yule finally launch his slalom season? 22nd, 13th and 20th in the first three races of the season, the Val Ferret skier can grab his first top-10 of the winter. On an icy track, the Valaisan had a difficult start to the round before finding his rhythm. Over the last two sectors, Yule only lost 0”28.
Eighth, Loïc Meillard did the opposite of his compatriot. Getting off to a fairly good start, the Hérémence skier gave up ground at the bottom to fail at 1''44.
Without a big mistake, Tanguy Nef would have done better than his 15th place at 2”43. Positive point for the Genevan, he knows how to limit damage despite the mistakes.
Dark period for Rochat
It was more difficult for Luca Aerni, provisionally 22nd at 2”96. Winner in 2020, Ramon Zenhäusern is in provisional 25th place at 3”47. Difficult to imagine him in the second round.
Marc Rochat, for his part, is going through a dark period. The 32-year-old Vaudois once again suffered an elimination, the fourth in as many races.
In the lead, we find a Norwegian duo composed of Timon Haugan and Atle Lie McGrath. The two Scandinavians pushed back the competition since Clément Noël, back after missing the slalom in Val d'Isère, is 0''99 behind. In 4th place, Steven Amiez and Henrik Kristoffersen share the Franco-Norwegian honors.
